Serious Illness Support

Steady support through diagnosis, treatment, and everything they rearrange.

A serious diagnosis rearranges everything. Schedules. Relationships. What the future is allowed to look like. The treatment gets a whole team. Everything else usually gets one person — and that person is often holding it alone.

Whether you’re the one who is sick or the one doing the holding, this is the work I do.

What We Work On Together

  • A steady, consistent presence. I’m not part of a rotating staff. The person you talk to this month is the person you talk to next month, whether we work together for one session or for a year.

  • Making sense of the medical world. I spent fifteen years in oncology clinical research. I know how the system talks — and how it doesn’t. I help you prepare for appointments, form the questions worth asking, and hold onto your own priorities inside a process that moves fast.

  • Decisions that match your values. When treatment choices arrive, I help you weigh them against what actually matters to you — not to make the decision for you, but to make sure it’s genuinely yours.

  • Advance care planning. Getting wishes documented while there’s still calm to do it in.

  • Communication with the people you love. What to tell the kids, how to talk to a parent, what to say when everyone is scared and no one is saying it.

  • Room for every emotion. Fear, anger, hope, exhaustion, dark humor. All of it is allowed here. None of it needs to be performed or hidden.
